Solar Study Room Programme

Preface:-

  • In the state Maharashtra there is trouble to supply electricity at the time of peak load demand. As, there is a large gap between supply and demand, currently the remote and rural areas of Maharashtra are facing the problem of load shedding.
  • In remote and rural areas of Maharashtra, providing uninterrupted power supply by means of conventional energy sources is going to be expensive and difficult.

Objective of the programme:-

  • The students living in rural areas are facing the problem of uncertain electric supply, solar home lights can be used to light up the study room under various grampanchayats of Maharashtra. The necessary arrangements for installation for solar home light systems   under common study room program at various location such as community Temple, Gram Panchayat office, village temple must be arranged by grampanchayat.

Technical details of system:-

  • A solar home lighting system converts solar energy into electricity and provides a comfortable level of illumination in one or more rooms of house. Solar home lights are available in total 4 types featuring one, two or four CFLs. These lights can be used continuously for at least four to five hours daily. In solar home lighting system 7, 9 and 11 CFL can be illuminated with the help of inverter, battery, PV module and electronics. The system is designed to operate for three to four hours daily, with of autonomy of three days. After the successful installation of solar home lighting system in common study room, the common study room are transferred to grampanchayats in order to ensure proper maintenance for satisfactory working.

  • In Solar Study Room Programme we have given the work order to different manufacturers for supply, installation, testing and commissioning of Solar Home Light System with five years Comprehensive Maintenance Contract (CMC) in study Room Programme at various Grampanchayats in the state of Maharashtra.
